Background of the organization
Rural People Upliftment Development Program (RPUDP) Humla was initiated by the seven youth, as a lose forum of youth from the remote village Kalika - 2, Kargain of Humla district with the work of sanitation activities in the rural village in the year 2054 B.S. It was registered in District Administration Office (DAO); Humla unders Social Welfare Council act 2034 in 2055 B.S. as a non governmental organization. The RPUDP Humla was initially initiated small activities in the society with the participation of the Youth people of community to meet the various and challenging demand of the community such as sanitation, drinking water, Irrigation, and education etc. This organization gradually expanded the working area and field of work as wells.
Recently RPUDP is working in more than 17 VDCs of Humla district in the field of Good governance, institutionalization of Democracy, Poverty reduction, income generating, women cooperative, Food security, sanitation and drinking water, agricultural development, Irrigation, Micro hydro, infrastructure development and community empowerment, capacity development etc. This organization has been giving emphasis on equal participation of women, Dalit, Janajati and disadvantage group of community in every step of the work.
RPUDP Humla has rented office house, which has 9 rooms and big training hall with enough furniture (chair, table, whiteboard, carpet, mat etc) The area of our training hall is 270 sq fit.

Internal Democratic Practices and rules:
Election:
The General Assembly held every three years of the organization and forms an election committee and elects the Executive Committee.
Regular Meeting:
The Executive Committee meets every month on regular basis and emergency meetings are held when and where necessary. And RPUDP Management Committee Meet on each month to effective implementation of lunching program.
Transparency:
The Executive Committee makes decisions and keeps minutes on every major activity, usually through consensus and in participatory manner and if necessary voting is done. All the actions taken by the executive committee are endorsed in the General Assembly.
Sub-committees, formed of the general membership, are made responsible as per their expertise and requirement.
The documents and all the Records of the institution are easily accessible to all the members.
Any two from three signatories operates a bank account.
The Financial Audit is carried out through an external auditor appointed by the Executive Committee and endorsed by the General Assembly.
Decision Making:
Participatory practices are institutionalized. Functioning of the organization continues even during the absence of the Chairperson.

RPUDP Organization Intervention
RPUDP Humla started work in Humla from 2055 B.S. It has been operation development program by 17 VDC of Humla districts, because of the unpredictable political scenario in Humla it has been decided to foc3us on shorter grand found projects RPUDP Hs been running of number of projects in Humla since june 2003. It is one of the few NGOs who have remained in the area during the civil conflict and has negotiated with the Maoists for access to areas.
